Wow, look at all that dust. I haven't posted here for months, not that I have an avid readership dying for my next piece of prose...

I think it is time to revamp the whole site, and I'll try to get it done before the year is over. I've been playing with WordPress and ZenPhoto on a couple of projects, so I'll probably ditch b2evolution and Gallery for those. Nothing wrong with b2evo or Gallery, I still love them, but I love even more the beautiful simplicity of WP and ZP.

I also want to make new character illustrations to go with the new design, and I know that's what will consume the greatest part of my time. It should be fun, though.

Well, since Stephanie from Obsidian Dawn asked me to update the link to her site, I decided to be thorough and see if there was anything else to fix in the links section. Wow, several sites bit the dust, while others made slight changes to their URLs. Edited everything, checked the links, so now the list is again useful.

Which reminds me (again) that I should give the whole site a facelift, maybe even dropping b2evolution and use WordPress instead (which I've found easier to deal with). Now if I could find the time to sit down and plan the redesign. :-P

If I haven't updated this lately is because I've been hired by Acuity Business Design as a Web designer. The job was Heaven-sent, I needed it badly, and it's also good to be working on something I actually enjoy to do, for a change.

I want to give my site a complete makeover, but with all these projects in my to-do list I'll have to put that in the backburner for a bit.

I've updated my portfolio of Web sites with a few I've been working with recently.

A couple of days back I accidentally let some drops of coffee with milk fall on the direction keys of my keyboard. I immediately wiped them dry, but the harm was already done. The next day, the "down" arrow annoyingly got stuck whenever I pressed it. Obviously, a portion of the liquid got into the key well and became low-tac glue.

Before I waxed irrational and ran screaming in terror to my nearest computer store to get a new KB, I took a deep breath and Googled for a solution. This instructional video at eHow was the best one so far (at least in my particular case). (I'm only including a link instead of embedding the video since I couldn't stop it from auto-playing.)

Once I pried off the direction keys, it was a relief to see that it wasn't that much of a mess. The liquid only got to the well, or recess, of the keys, and not into the rubber membrane and circuitry within, so I was able to fix it by cleaning the keys and the well with isopropyl alcohol and some Qtips. Within minutes I got it dry and in working condition.
